Sgt. Maj. Garcia takes over responsibility for SETAF-AF battalion headquarters

Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, held a change of responsibility ceremony Feb. 25. Command Sgt. Maj. Salvador G. Garcia replaced Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher E. Rozmarin during the ceremony at Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy.


"It is truly an honor to serve as the HHBn CSM and be part of this outstanding organization. I look forward to serving alongside our Soldiers, Directorates, and our military and civilian Italian counterparts."

VICENZA, Italy -- Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, held a change of responsibility ceremony Feb. 25 to install a new battalion command sergeant major.

Command Sgt. Maj. Salvador G. Garcia replaced Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher E. Rozmarin during the ceremony at Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy. The ceremony took place at Hoekstra Parade Field at Caserma Ederle, and was an opportunity for Soldiers, family and friends to welcome Garcia and his family into the Vicenza Military Community.

Outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Rozmarin thanked SETAF-AF for the ongoing support of himself and his family during his time leading the organization, and welcomed Garcia to his new position. Later, introduced himself to the Soldiers and family members of the battalion and the VMC.

"It is truly an honor to serve as the HHBn CSM and be part of this outstanding organization," Garcia said. "I look forward to serving alongside our Soldiers, Directorates, and our military and civilian Italian counterparts."

Garcia is a native of Sonora, Mexico. His last assignment was the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.. He began his career in the Army on Oct. 18, 2000 as an automated logistics specialist and has served in numerus logistics positions since. Rozmarin plans to retire after 24 years of Army service.

Brooke Gomulka serves as in-house counsel, but on weekends she dons a different cape as a U.S. Army Reserve judge advocate with the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade. Currently, she is on a nine-month deployment with the Civil Affairs Battalion, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) in Vicenza, Italy.
