SETAF-AF chief warrant officer 2 named Army Transportation Corps Warrant Officer of the Year

VICENZA, Italy -- Chief Warrant Officer 2 Herbert D. Carter III, the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa master maritime operations officer, received the annual Army Transportation Corps Warrant Officer of the Year award Dec. 10, 2020 in a virtual ceremony.

 Carter believes his success over the last two and half years with SETAF-AF “speaks to the tremendous accomplishments (we)’ve had in the G-4 Surface Mobility Operations Division.”

 Carter, who joined the Army in 2004, decided to stay in the military because of  his positive experiences with leadership throughout his 17 years of service.

 “I continued to serve because I’ve had a lot of great leaders throughout my career,” Carter said. “SETAF-AF has really stood out because they’ve created a good culture that has a ‘people first’ attitude, and it makes me proud.”

Brooke Gomulka serves as in-house counsel, but on weekends she dons a different cape as a U.S. Army Reserve judge advocate with the 360th Civil Affairs Brigade. Currently, she is on a nine-month deployment with the Civil Affairs Battalion, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) in Vicenza, Italy.
